Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
BillVoice identifies banknotes from photos. It does not have accounts, ads or tracking, and it collects as little as it can to do that one job.
Photos you identify
When you take or choose a photo, BillVoice sends it over an encrypted connection to our server (Google Firebase Cloud Functions), together with your chosen language. The server sends the photo to Anthropic's Claude API, which reads the bill and returns the result.
- BillVoice does not store your photos on its server.
- Anthropic processes the photo under its commercial API terms, which do not allow using it to train models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Our server keeps short technical logs of each request: whether it succeeded, the notes it found (for example "1 × 20 USD") and usage counts. The logs contain no photo, name or user identifier.
App Check
To make sure requests come from the real BillVoice app, the app uses Apple's App Attest through Google Firebase App Check. This sends an anonymous attestation from your device to Apple and Google. It does not identify you.
Data that stays on your iPhone
Your scan history (the result and a small thumbnail) and your settings are stored only on your device. Deleting a scan or the app removes them.
What BillVoice does not do
- No account or sign-in
- No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites
- No selling or sharing of your data
- No collection of location, contacts or other personal information
Children
BillVoice is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
